The first single off the
RHYTHM TRIBE album SOL MODERNO
In
the early Nineties , the ambitious Los Angeles band Rhythm
Tribe™ pioneered
an intoxicating new sound characterized by insistent Afro-Latin
rhythms and vibrant pop-inflected melodies. The result was "Modern
Sol", the world-wide (BMG) debut album that presaged the Latin pop
craze and has since become a cult classic. Now, Rhythm Tribe
reemerges with an album of unspeakable passion and beauty. Produced
by 9 time Grammy winner Phil Ramone (Billy Joel, Brian Setzer
Orchestra) and Rhythm Tribe™.
ACID LATIN finds the band boldly reconstructing their sound
combining the hip-thrusting urgency of Puerto Rican rhythms with
smoky soulfulness of the 70's R&B and Funk. With the new music
scene firmly established on the streets of America's urban
underground, ACID LATIN is as ancient as its Guaracha , Aguinaldo,
Guajira, Mambo, and Bolero rhythms, and as futuristic as its
sensuous, neo funk grooves.
